Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy

Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (March 8, 1892 – December 5, 1963) was a Bengali politician who served as the Prime Minister of undivided Bengal and later as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Born in Medinipur, West Bengal, Suhrawardy was a prominent leader of the Bengali independence movement and a key figure in the political history of both Bangladesh and Pakistan. He studied law at Oxford University and became one of the most influential political figures in pre-partition India. As Prime Minister of Bengal (1946-1947), he advocated for a united Bengal independent of both India and Pakistan. After partition, he moved to Pakistan and served as its Prime Minister from 1956 to 1957. He was known for his progressive policies and his vision for Bengali self-determination. He passed away in exile in Beirut, Lebanon.
